Mandalas have evolved over the years as my natural art form. As a very young kid I would draw mandalas one after the other with crayon. My mother taught me embroidery at the age of 5 which was my medium of choice for many years. Around 2001 I discovered the art of mosaic and now I work in both techniques.
"Mandala" is from the Indian language of Sanskrit. A loose translation is "circle". A mandala represents wholeness and can be seen as a model for the organizational structure of life. A rose window in a church is a mandala, the yin-yang symbol is a mandala, a crystal structure of a snowflake is a mandala...........
